RSSBus Connect™ is a set of easy-to-use components that simplify data integration challenges.
The RSSBus Connect components enable easy implementation of RSSBus Simple Services™
calls to access a multitude of data sources both local and remote.
RSSBus Connect is a component library that provides a simple
plug-and-play interface
to RSSBus Simple Services™.
The client component enable easy
construction of
service requests and processing of responses, while the server
component allows you to enable applications with service
endpoints through a built-in Web server with full
connection control and utilities for parsing requests and generating
responses.
Note: Using the RSSBus Connect components is entirely optional. Any client program or programming environment
that can make HTTP requests and process one of the many response
formats returned by RSSBus can access RSSBus Simple Services.
Included Components
RSBClient
The RSBClient component provides everything you need to make service
calls and iterate over response items. It also includes a rich set of configuration features to help you manage proxies, cookies, certificates, compression, and other HTTP capabilities.
RSBServer
The RSBServer component allows you to easily and quickly
service-enable any application. Just drop the component
into your application and the built-in Web server will intercept
service requests and fire an event for each call. Then you use
simple methods and properties to read the request parameters and
generate response items.
RSSBus Simple Services use feeds as their standard data exchange format.
The components support the RSS 2.0 specification with data extensions. This use of open protocols allows you to use these components to not only connect
to RSSBus Simple Services, but anything that can understand RSS 2.0.
