RSSBUS ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THE RSSBUS SHAREPOINT WEB PART™
Access Hundreds Of Enterprise and Internet Information Sources From SharePoint. Integrating Data With SharePoint Has Never Been This Easy.
June 23rd 2009, Cambridge, MA - RSSBus, a division of /n software inc. (www.rssbus.com), a leading provider of professional Internet development tools and components, today at the SharePoint Technology Conference 2009 announced availability of the RSSBus SharePoint Web Partâ„¢, a tool that enables SharePoint users to quickly and easily aggregate real time information from the Web, databases, and other internal and external sources into SharePoint Sites.
The RSSBus SharePoint Web Part builds upon the rich data connectivity features of RSSBus™ to reach remote information sources and make them accessible from within SharePoint sites. Configured through a straightforward 'Wiki-like' editing experience, the Web Part makes dozens of Enterprise and Internet information sources easily accessible to SharePoint end users with no additional administrative overhead.
"The RSSBus SharePoint Web Part is an easy-to-use standard SharePoint Web Part that enables authorized SharePoint users, not only administrators, to easily update their portal sites with dynamic content from virtually any internal or external data source." said Eric Madariaga, Vice President of Marketing. "End users can simply use the included rich text editor to define and expose the data that interests them, while advanced users can access the powerful new features like PowerShell and Python scripting, as well as Web Part connections, to enable more complex integration scenarios."
This release has been enhanced with powerful new features that make integration and configuration easier than ever before. Web Part Connections have been enabled which allow the RSSBus SharePoint Web Part to both send data to, and receive data from other Web Parts within the same SharePoint portal. In addition, the new web
part engine has been greatly enhanced by allowing Web Parts to be scripted in Microsoft PowerShell and Python, providing scripting users with powerful new language support. Dozens of demo Web Parts are also now available online. The markup of these Web
Parts can be simply copy-pasted directly into the SharePoint Web Part and freely modified and customized for specific functionality. Finally, connectors have been included for SQL, SMTP, and SOAP, which enable users to connect to databases, RSS, web services, and other external sources right out of the box. Additional connectors to hundreds of data sources can be freely downloaded from the RSSBus website.
